BIOGRAPHY
It is my hope to inspire, impact and leave a mark where I go. To be a light even in the darkest moments.
Douglas McDonald was born and raised in Broward County, Florida to parents of Jamaican descent; Deveroux and Beverlene McDonald. Douglas is the youngest of two children and from a very young age, he was exposed to a wide range of music. Having been raised in a culturally diverse environment, some of his musical influences span from Gospel, Soul, Reggae, and Classic rock. As a small child he gravitated to music and instruments, quickly beginning with piano. His parents enrolled him to study at a local music school that not only exposed him to classical music but also to large theatrical productions.
As he grew older, he explored various instruments but found that the saxophone was his favorite. Throughout middle and high school, he excelled in music both in and outside of his church and school. He was blessed to perform with international recording artist and from time to time would travel abroad to share his gift with others.
Not only did his love of music continue to grow, his love for Christ did also. From a very young age, his parents instilled in him a strong foundation in God. He was very active in his local church and has been ever since. The anointing over his life was prominent as he would preach, sing, and lead out praise & worship for church services whether at his then home church, Gateway Church, or anywhere his gifts would take him. Doug’s relationship and faith in God grew as he faced many tests and trials in college and thereafter. The more faithful God remained, the deeper Doug’s devotion to Christ.
To this day Douglas Has continued to grow and develop as a man, musician and producer. He has worked with several local artist in Broward County and abroad including Savannah Christina, Brandon Jovan, Sheena Murray and more. He has played with various bands from local top 40 groups to being featured center stage for the Miami Heat basketball team.
As a DJ he has played at various venues, festivals and events including the Basement Miami, Sun fest Palm beach, and currently holds standing residences in his hometown. He boasts a wide collection of music from Caribbean influences such as reggae, dancehall, and soca to hip-hop, pop, rock, house, latin, RnB, afrobeats and much more. He hopes to continue rock stages and shine a light of hope with every performance.
